Mohan Kumar Prajapati hails from Jaipur, Rajasthan, and boasts a career spanning 42 years in the realm of miniature artistry. He is a proficient practitioner of this craft, having imbibed its techniques from his father. Mohan Kumar represents the fifth generation of a lineage devoted to the art of miniature painting within his family. He is joined in this artistic endeavor by his younger brother, Mahesh Prajapati (recipient of the National Merit Award in 2007), and his son, Pawan Prajapati.
Throughout his journey, Mohan Kumar has delved into various schools of miniature art, including the Kishangarh School, Jaipur School, Kangra School, Mughal School, and Jain style, accumulating profound knowledge within these stylistic domains. Notably, he introduced innovation in the field of miniature art by pioneering realistic painting techniques, a contribution that garnered acclaim both nationally and internationally.
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mohan Kumar extended his expertise to over 1,200 individuals through comprehensive training programs, continuing his commitment to skill development. Perpetually driven to innovate, he remains dedicated to exploring novel avenues within his craft. |
